What We Don't Collect

• The ChineseSubs application runs 100% offline on your computer
• No telemetry, analytics, or usage tracking in the app
• No video files, audio, or subtitle content ever leaves your machine
• No account creation required to use the app
• The app makes zero network requests during processing

License Verification

The app performs a one-time license verification when you first activate it. This sends only your license key to our server to confirm it's valid. No other data is transmitted.

Website Analytics

Our website uses privacy-friendly analytics to understand how visitors find us. No personal data is collected, no cookies are used, and no data is shared with third parties.

Third-Party Services

• Stripe — payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy)
• BTCPay Server — Bitcoin payment processing (self-hosted, no third party)

Data Retention

We retain your email and license information for as long as your license is active, to provide support and deliver updates. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@chinesesubs.app.

Terms of Service

License

Purchasing ChineseSubs grants you a personal, non-transferable, lifetime license to use the software on your own computers. One license covers one user across multiple personal devices.

Permitted Use

• Generate subtitles for video files you legally own or have the right to access
• Install on multiple personal computers
• Use for personal, non-commercial purposes

Prohibited Use

• Reselling, sharing, or distributing your license key
• Reverse engineering or decompiling the software
• Using the software for commercial subtitle production services

Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. If ChineseSubs doesn't work for you, email support@chinesesubs.app within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

Updates

Your purchase includes free updates for one year from the date of purchase. After that, the software continues to work indefinitely — you just won't receive new features or model updates.
